Oil Study No 13 - Project 100
I decided to brave a swarm of native bees next to our campsite in Melrose SA, to capture a reference photo. But I got a bit too close! When they started bouncing off me, I ran! After a little research, I learned that these are native bees and they don’t sting, or are at best reluctant to, nor do they nest in the same place, which explains why a few days later they were gone.
I think the species is called Tricholletes Leucogenys - if you know more about bees please share!
